Matt Gutierrez
2004-2005
Matt is the first boy to qualify for State in the history of Valley View.  He was a dominant athlete in both Track and Cross Country, and at one point held the school record for 2 miles, the mile, and the 800m.

Stephen Garrett
2006-2007
After not running his 6th grade year and having an average 7th grade year, Stephen ran all summer and transformed into one of the best runners in the State.  The only Sectional Champion and first Cross Country medalist in Valley View history (21st), Stephen eventually went on to be a State Qualifier at BHS.

Mariana Hernandez
2005-2007
For a period of time Mariana held every single distance record at Jane Addams.  She was a smart runner who led Jane Addams to be the first team qualifiers in Valley View history.  She is also the highest girl finisher ever finishing 31st in 2007.

Sydney Banks
2007-2009
For a period of time Sydney was one of the most feared runners in the area.  Holding the school record for a period of time, Sydney remains the only VVSD runner to qualify for the State Championship for 3 straight years.

Arianna Amill
2010-2012
One of the best runners not only in Addams history, but also in the history of Bolingbrook.  A 2 time State Qualifier Arianna has held multiple school records.  After dominating middle school and leading our team to a Qualifying spot in 2012, Arianna went on to become the first BHS runner to qualify for State in 26 years.

Caleb Robertson
2011-2012
Helping Addams win the Troy Invitational in 2011, Caleb just missed State.  Then in 2012 Caleb dominated by qualifying in 2012, and in what may be the wettest State Championship in IESA history, finished 19th and receiving a medal.

Joseph Balas
2013-2015
A soccer player, Joe opted to run Cross Country instead of join the soccer team (he did club) and the rest is history.  Joe holds the district middle school 2 mile record that he set in 7th grade.  He qualified for State twice and in each visit finished All-State.

Ignacio (Iggie) Escamilla
2018-2020
What could have been.   He was a State qualifier in 2018, and in 2019 was All-State finishing 10th with a 10:50.7.  Iggie was on pace to win 7th grade State in the 1600 for track and was going to win the Cross Country State Championship in 2020 but his middle school career was cut short by the Covid lockdown.  Iggie currently holds the school record in the 800, 1600, and 3200.
